Hallo, ich habe auf Ubuntu 18.04 Ihr beschriebenes Programmen GMTP installiert. Beim Start tritt folgende Fehlermeldung auf kx@t480:/home$ gmtp

Weiß jemand, warum das Programm nicht läuft? Natürlich mit USB verbunden und auf dem Handy bestätigt.

Hallo Klaus,
das scheint ein bekannter Fehler zu sein, denn vor rund einem Jahr hat es bei Launchpad bereits eine Meldung zu Problemen mit dem Huawei P9 Plus und Ubuntu gegeben. Die Fehlermeldung ist identisch:

Leider hat sich dort bis dato nichts getan. Ich kenne das Huawei P9 Plus nicht und kann daher keinen Test damit durchführen. Hier in diesem älteren Thread findet sich evtl. ein Lösungsansatz:

Falls das nicht hilft, würde ich mal versuchen, das Smartphone unter Ubuntu 20.04 in einem Live-System anzusprechen.
