zim Desktop Wiki speichert seine Dateien in .txt also Textdateien in einer Ordnerstruktur.

Das kiwix ist vermutlich ein Programm um Teile der Wikipedia Offline (als .zim Datei) anzuschauen.

Du benötigst ein anderes Programm für die gewünschte Funktion.

Hier wird beschrieben dass Kiwix v0.9 neue Fileformate nicht mehr öffnet. Mit einem Hexeditor könnt ihr aber das 5te Byte welches die Version wohl wiederspiegeln soll ändern:
“I also experienced this issue with the file “wikipedia_en_all_novid_2018-06.zim”. I followed the suggestion of changing the “version” number in a hex editor and it worked.
Prior to this, if I tried opening it in Linux (kiwix version 0.9) it would give the “Unable to load…Are you sure this is a ZIM file?” error, afterward, it worked without issue. In Android (Kiwix version 2.2 Build: 53) it woud scan for files, and discover a wikivoyage file (which had a 05 already instead of a 06) but wouldn’t notice the wikipedia file. After changing it, it discovers the file in the scan and loads the pages properly.
Temperorarily, if anyone’s wondering what we changed in the hex editor to get it to work, you’ll notice the first few digits of your file are probably:
5A 49 4D 04 06 <– Change this “06” to “05”.”
 
Alternativ scheint das Firefox Plugin von https://sourceforge.net/projects/kiwix/files/browsers/firefox/ oder neuere Versionen unter https://sourceforge.net/projects/kiwix/files/ die Dateien öffnen zu können.
