ForumFehler mit Bildwiederholfrequenz bei Dualhead mit Nvidia

Hi,

ich doktor’ schon eine ganze weile an meinem Dualheadsystem rum. Ich hab
einen 17′ und einen 15′ Röhrenmonitor. Der kleine Bildschirm, der der
zweite sein soll, ist aber warum auch immer nur ein Klon vom ersten und
zeigt einen Fehler bei der Bildwiederholfrequenz … ich poste euch
einfach mal meine xorg.conf … ich hab davon leider nicht so viel Ahnung
und Sax2 scheint mich nicht so viel weiter zu bringen … ich nutze
jedenfalls SuSE9.3 und eine Nvidia NX6600.

also meiner meinung nach liegt dein problem darin das deine config in bezug auf den nvidia treiber total falsch ist. dual-head wird bei nvidia ungefähr so configuriert (auszug aus einer config die ich vor 2 jahren benutzt habe ;):

sry … aber ich glaub das führt mich nicht auf einen grünen Zweig … aber Danke für den Link! Da findet sich nämlich u.a. folgendes:

Appendix P. Configuring Multiple X Screens on One Card

Graphics chips that support TwinView (Appendix G) can also be configured to
treat each connected display device as a separate X screen.

While there are several disadvantages to this approach as compared to TwinView
(eg: windows cannot be dragged between X screens, hardware accelerated OpenGL
cannot span the two X screens), it does offer several advantages over
TwinView:

If each display device is a separate X screen, then properties that
may vary between X screens may vary between displays (eg: depth, root
window size, etc).

Hardware that can only be used on one display at a time (eg: video
overlays, hardware accelerated RGB overlays), and which consequently
cannot be used at all when in TwinView, can be exposed on the first X
screen when each display is a separate X screen.

The 1-to-1 association of display devices to X screens is more
historically in line with X.

To configure two separate X screens to share one graphics chip, here is what
you will need to do:

First, create two separate Device sections, each listing the BusID of the
graphics card to be shared, each listing the driver as “nvidia”, and assign
each a separate screen:

Was ich nochmal probiert hab ist bei meinem zweiten Device-Eintrag “Screen” auf 1 zu setzen, aber geändert hat sich leider nichts … es sieht wirklich danach aus also ob auf dem zweiten Monitor ein Klon vom ersten Monitor ankommt, bloß der zweite Monitor kommt eben mit 1024×768 nicht zurecht, sondern geht nur bis 800×600.

hi,
scheinbar hat nvidia die configuration doch etwas geändert seit dem ich mir dass das letzte mal angeschaut habe ;) dennoch:

änder beim 2. monitor folgende zeile:
Modes “1600×1200” “1024×768” “800×600” “640×480”
in:
Modes “800×600” “640×480″

oder click einfach mal mit der maus (einfach links aus dem 1. bildschirm rausfahren ;) auf den 2. monitor und drück dann strg+alt+”+”

desweiteren kannst du die frequenz für den zweiten monitor seperat einstellen (hier für 640×480@60Hz laut xorg.conf.example):
