Hallo, mein Drucker druckt nicht mehr. Ich habe ihn richtig angeschlossen und linux hatte ihn erkannt (benutze das Suse 9.3, KDE). Um mich zu bezeugen, hatte ich einen Testdruck machen lassen, der einwandfrei funktionierte.
Nun hab ich folgendes prob, ich mache einen job, der nur in die warteschlangeaufgenommen wird, aber nicht gedruckt wird!
Bitte um Hilfe!
Gleich ncoh ne frage. kann man auch mp3´s ohne großen aufwand abspielen?
wäre ne gute sache. Aber Primär mal der drucker :-)

Hallo Gabriel,
Falls es sich bei deinem PC um ein 64Bit System handelt, könnte ein Fehler in
den ghostscript-Bibliotheken dafür verantwortlich sein. Ein Online-Update
sollte Abhilfe schaffen.
Sollte es dann immer nicht funktionieren, poste bitte mal den Inhalt der
Dateien in /var/log/cups.
Zu den mp3s: Ja kann man, einfach mal draufklicken.
Mal im Ernst, dass Problem dürfte auch mit dem Online-Update aus der Welt sein.
Suse 9.3 hat aus rechtlichen Gründen keine mp3 Unterstützung von Haus aus
dabei. Mit dem Update wird die Unterstützung eingespielt.

Der Pfad zur Gerätedatei wird nicht gefunden.
Sieh dir besten mal den Inhalt der Datei /etc/cups/printers.conf an.
Die Option DeviceURI dieses Druckers sollte dort auf “usb:/dev/usb/lp0”
verweisen.
Hast du mehrere Drucker über USB angeschlossen, muss lp0 durch lp1 usw. ersetzt
werden.

Kann mir niemand helfen? bräuchte den drucker für die arbeit und bin schon fast wieder dabei, windows aufzuspielen, wo ich mich gerade so schön an linux gewöhne…

Dein CUPS verhält sich etwas merkwürdig.
Erst benennt es ein Gerät:
Location USB-Drucker auf //Canon/S400
was als Name ok wäre.
Dann ermittelt es einen Zugriffspfad:
DeviceURI usb:/dev/lp0
was für sich genommen auch OK ist.
Dann versucht es aber nicht über die Gerätedatei, sondern über den Gerätenamen auf das Gerät zuzugreifen:
[08/Sep/2005:14:25:04 +0200] Setting y2test device-uri to “usb://Canon/S400” (was “file:/dev/null”.)
Das klappt natürlich nicht:
StateMessage Unable to open USB device “usb://Canon/S400”: No such device
Da ich davon ausgehe, dass du die Einrichtung (wenn nicht alles automatisch lief) mit Yast gemacht hast, scheint es so zu sein, dass sich Yast und das hotplug-Subsystem nicht über die zu benutzenden Gerätenamen einig sind.
Hast du den Drucker schon einmal per Yast entfernt und wieder eingerichtet?
Wenn ja und ohne Erfolg, dann schlage ich Folgendes vor:
1. Konsole aufmachen, mit “su -” root werden
2. In der Config-Datei //Canon/S400 in //dev/lp0 ändern (mit einem Editor deiner Wahl, gestartet aus dem Konsolenfenster).
3. den cupsd mit “service cupsd restart” (oder /etc/initd/cupsd restart) neu starten
und testen.

habe den drucker neu installiert und siehe da, der testdruckt funktioniert!
