wer kann helfen? Beim Einrichten einer Warteschlange für den Drucker ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Auszug aus /var/log/cups/err_0:

Beim Neukonfigurieren des Druckers kommt dann die Meldung: “CUPS-Daemon konnte nicht erfolgreich initialisiert werden”. Dazu ein Auszug /var/log/cups/err_0:

Eshandelt sich um einen Einzelplatzrechner unter SuSE 9.2, KDE 3.3.0 Kernel 2.6.8.

Wenn der Drucker lokal angeschlossen ist, sollte nicht versucht werden einen Servernamen aufzulösen (es sei denn localhost).
Wenn der Drucker an einem anderen Rechner hängt, ist usb:// das falsche Protokoll.
Wenn die URI “usb://” Probleme bereitet, kann es an Problemen mit dem USB-Subsystem liegen. Da SuSe 9.2 schon einige Zeit auf dem Buckel hat (nach den Maßstäben von Hardware- und Linux-Fortentwicklung), zieh dir mal eine Knoppix oder (K)Ubuntu Live-CD und teste damit.

Mir fallen zwei Fehlermeldungen auf:
“StartListening: Unable to find IP address for server name “linux” – Fehler
beim Auflösen des Hostnamens”
“linux” ist der Name deines Rechners. Scheinbar hast du deinem eigenen Rechner
keine IP-Adresse zugewiesen (was an einem Einzelplatz auch sinnlos scheint).
Entweder teilst deiner Netzwerkkarte mittels Yast irgend eine statische IP zu
oder du richtest “linux” als alias für “localhost” ein. Suche dazu
in /etc/hosts den Eintrag
127.0.0.1 localhost
und ändere ihn zu
127.0.0.1 localhost linux
Erstere Variante ist aber zu bevorzugen.
“StartListening: Unable to bind socket for address 00000000:631 – Die Adresse
wird bereits verwendet.”
Diese Fehlermeldung kommt in der Regel, wenn der Port 631, auf dem Cups
arbeitet, schon durch einen anderen Dienst belegt ist.
Mit rpcinfo -p localhost läßt sich der Übeltäter ermitteln.
In den meisten Fällen hilft auch ein einfacher Neustart des Rechners, da die
Ports dann neu vergeben werden.
