CVE-2008-1947 - Cross-Site Scripting Schwachstellen in Apache Tomcat
Die Host Manager Anwendung in Apache Tomcat filtert die uebergebenen
Parameter 'name' in den Skript 'host-manager/html/add' ungenuegend auf
enthaltenen Skript- oder HTML-Code und kann so fuer Cross-Site
Scripting Angriffe missbraucht werden. Entfernte Angreifer, die sich
in der Anwendung authentifiziert haben, koennen dadurch Skriptcode im
Browser anderer Benutzer ausfuehren.
Betroffen sind die folgenden Software Pakete und Plattformen:
Paket tomcat5.5 in der stable Distribution (etch) vor Version
5.5.20-2etch3
Paket tomcat5.5 in der unstable Distribution (sid) vor Version 5.5.26-3

Tt was discovered that the Host Manager web application performed
insufficient input sanitising, which could lead to cross-site scripting.
For the stable distribution (etch), this problem has been fixed in
version 5.5.20-2etch3.
For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed in
version 5.5.26-3.
We recommend that you upgrade your tomcat5.5 packages.
Upgrade instructions

wget url
will fetch the file for you
dpkg -i file.deb
will install the referenced file.
If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:
apt-get update
will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
will install corrected packages
You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
footer to the proper configuration.
