Oder sind war alle schon so gut geworden, dass wir alles wissen?

Ich denke mal, daß liegt daran, das keine neuen Distris (Ubuntu und
Suse) rausgekommen sind (Dem höheren transzendalen Wesen sei Dank sind
die Releasezyklen länger geworden sind). Da geht es normal immer etwas
turbelenter auf der Liste zu.
Die einzige neue Distri, nämlich Lenny macht das, was der rote
Wirbelwind immer macht: einfach funktionieren.
Und drum ist es so ruhig hier, weil die Fehler der letzten Releases
langsam ausgemerzt sind.

Von den Leuten, denen ich Debian installiert habe, ist bis jetzt kein
einziger abgesprungen, inzwischen arbeiten die sogar ausschliesslich nur
noch mit Linux. Ich musste die meisten lange überreden, damit ich ihre
Rechner auf Lenny upgraden durfte, weil sie mit etch so zufrieden waren.
Allerdings habe ich bisher auch niemanden zu Linux überredet, sondern
ich wurde immer um Hilfe gebeten.

Von den zum Schluß 6 "behinderten-gerechten" SuSE-Kisten (11.0/11.1)
lebt inzwischen keine mehr. Der Fedora-Rechner ist auch weg. Meine Frau
hat von Mandriva den Kanal voll und hält sich mehr an "Äpfel"...
Und mein "OvD" ist ja jetzt auch fast bei Lenny angekommen.

Könnte ich jetzt so nicht bestätigen. Alle die ich "überzeugt" habe,
sind noch bei Linux. Na ja, die brauchen als Hauptanwendung auch Ooo.
Das aber mit Unterstützung für Arabisch und Hindi.
Und ein fast überzeugter Siduxanwender ist auch dazu gekommen.
Liegt vielleicht daran, daß ich mehr Leute kenne, die den Rechner zum
Arbeiten und nicht zum Spielen benutzen.
Für die zählt Stabilität, Sicherheit, und vor allem nicht dauernd
irgendwelche Virensignaturen und Firewalls updaten.
Zudem O00 auch im Paralleluniversum bekannt ist.
Ich stehe hinter jeder Regierung, bei der ich nicht sitzen muß, wenn ich
nicht hinter ihr stehe.

Ist auch mal eine Gelegenheit unsere Problem'chen selbst zu lösen sonst lernen
wir's ja nie!
Um meine USB-Stick's zu testen versuch ich's halt mal mit anderen
DVD's. Da gibt's ja inzwischen Live-Distris im Massen und alle sind
dazu geeignet Linux bekannt zu machen und auch die Unzulänglichkeiten von
Windows zu demonstrieren.
Gestern rief mich ein eingefleischter alt Anwender an, er habe jetzt alle
Live-Systeme ausprobiert und sich für das Sicherheits-Linux Privatix 8.12.08
auf einem Stick entschieden. Soll ich mir auch mal ansehen!
Ich freue mich natürlich über jeden der sich mit Linux beschäftigt, egal wer
ihn dazu animiert hat.
Die Frage der Nachhaltigkeit wird jeder selbst treffen müssen.

Auch ich wünsche allen hier viele bunte Ostereier; oder auf spanisch: "Buenos

Ich werde schon noch mit Fragen kommen zu dem immer noch nicht gelösten
Problem Faxen mit Fritzcard und Lenny. Meine Faulheit (und es gibt ja noch
vieles Andere zu tun) hat mich noch nicht zum Ausprobieren der verschiedenen
Vorschläge kommen lassen.

The Debian project is pleased to announce the eighth update of its
oldstable distribution Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (codename "etch"). This
update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the oldstable
release, along with a few adjustment to serious problems.
Please note that this update does not constitute a new version of Debian
GNU/Linux 4.0 but only updates some of the packages included. There is
no need to throw away 4.0 CDs or DVDs but only to update via an up-to-
date Debian mirror after an installation, to cause any out of date
packages to be updated.
Those who frequently install updates from security.debian.org won't have
to update many packages and most updates from security.debian.org are
included in this update.
New CD and DVD images containing updated packages and the regular
installation media accompanied with the package archive respectively will
be available soon at the regular locations.
Upgrading to this revision online is usually done by pointing the
aptitude (or apt) package tool (see the sources.list(5) manual page) to

Hallo,
meine Wetterstation (WinXP / VNC) bediene per Fernwartung mit vinagre, weil
KRDC häufig abstürzt. Einen kleinen Schönheitsfehler hat die Sache.
